As part of the celebrations there was a service at the Abbey at 2pm with General Ringing from 1pm-2pm open to ringers from all over the Diocese.

After the service, there was general ringing from 4pm at Bath St Michael and Bath St Stephen, Lansdown, and quarter peals at Bath St Matthew, Widcombe and Bathwick.

Ringing was followed by a brief quarterly meeting from 5:30pm in the crypt at St Mike's with a pot luck style bring-and-share tea. This in turn was followed by a Beetle Drive social.

Present: Tom Longridge, Emma Longridge, Eric Webster, Jane Webster, Ashley Tutcher, Benomy Tutchers, Linnet Tutcher, Matthew Skues, Thomas Wareing, Michael Day, Ian Hay Davison, Ines Laidler, Heather Banyeard, Roger Button, Phill Butler, Robert Bell, Robin Peachy, Rebecca Day, Susan Crennell.

Apologies from: Will Willans, Maggie Willans, Richard Holland, Clover Holland, Sharon Bradley, Anne Wright.

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting and extended his thanks to everyone for ringing this afternoon and for their contributions to the tea and also to the Master and Secretary for their organisation of the day.

The Chairman called for a moments silence and said a prayer in memory of Mrs P Willans, Will Willans' mother, who had sadly passed away earlier in the day.

New Members

Di Ashby of St Stephens was proposed by Robin Peachey, seconded by Eric Webster and was duly elected.

The Secretary thanked those towers who had already sent her their subs and reminded everyone else that these were now due ASAP.

Ringing courses

The Master reminded everyone that the first ringing course of the year would be Raising and Lowering on 7th February, 10am-12noon. He noted that he had already had some interest and asked that any other interested parties contact him. He outlined that the course would be held at Bathwick and be run by David Huxford, it would be aimed at developing peoples ability to raise and lower in peal and would include a short theory session too. The Master also reminded everyone that a Bob Doubles course will be running in the near future. Dates will depend on those taking part so he asked anyone interested to get in touch.

Proposed Association Rule Changes

Copies of the proposed rule changes had been circulated immediately prior to the meeting. The proposed changes was outlined verbally. No-one at the meeting had any comments to make on the changes but were asked to contact the Association Rep (Tom L) should they wish to raise anything at a later date.

The Master informed everyone that our slot for ringing at Wells Cathedral would be on 8th March. He proposed that there would be general ringing for this if there was enough interest and that he would circulate further details nearer the time. Ashley Tutcher was presented with his membership certificate (somewhat belatedly, sorry!). The Secretary asked that people please leave a donation as we had had to pay for the use of the venue.

Beetle Drive

Following the meeting we held the inaugural Branch Beetle Drive! Congratulations to Tom Wareing who won the prize for the most points; commiserations to Benomy Tutcher for getting the booby prize; and well done to Linnet Tutcher for drawing the "most beautiful" beetle.
